FIRST NIGHT DAHLONEGA
A NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATION
First Night Dahlonega is a celebration of the new year through the performing arts. Dahlonega United Methodist Church, St Luke’s Catholic Church, Dahlonega Baptist Church, The Holly Theatre, and Hancock Park will be turned into performance venues to showcase local and regional talent.
For a $10.00 fee for adults (children under 12 and active duty military are free) have access to all the entertainment all evening! We celebrate the dawning of the new year at midnight with The Nugget Drop in the town square. Note: A children’s drop will be held at 9:30 PM.
It’s all great fun, affordable, safe and venues are alcohol free. Make your plans now to join us for the first First Night Dahlonega on December 31st. We will update this site frequently so come back and see all the plans as they come together!
All proceeds will benefit The North Georgia Interfaith Ministries which provides Transitional Housing for the Homeless (Jeremiah’s Place).
FIRST NIGHT HISTORY
The First Night movement began nearly 35 years ago in Boston, when a group of artists and residents got together to create a small festival of the arts to help ring in the New Year. Since then, the movement has grown in Boston and throughout the United States. This year, more than 75 towns and cities will celebrate First Night.
